Benefits administration
bswift is an Aetna subsidiary that uses smart analytics and integrated member data to simplify the administration of health care benefits, reduce costs and connect consumers to the resources they need to achieve their health ambitions. Its platform currently serves over 50,000 employers of all sizes and helps people easily choose a plan that’s right for them and their families.
Local care teams
The Aetna Community Care program is our innovative community-based, face-to-face care management program built on the idea that help and support should always be close by. The program aims to address unmet needs and social determinants of health by connecting our at-risk members with local solutions to support them on their health journey. A neighborhood care manager can meet members in their home, at work or wherever they are comfortable. Aetna Community Care also connects members to the health and social services in their communities and to an interdisciplinary care team.
Cost management
PayFlex is an Aetna subsidiary that offers a single solution for tax-advantaged accounts regardless of health plan options. Its Aetna Pay payment solution allows members to manage and pay medical bills from one secure source. Paired with an Aetna health plan, PayFlex creates a truly integrated experience for members and plan sponsors. PayFlex offers HSAs, FSAs and a variety of other reimbursement accounts as well as COBRA administration.
Digital tools & services
CVS Health’s digital tools make it easier for people to save time and money and stay healthy by connecting them to the full breadth of our products and services anytime, anywhere. Among them, the CVS Pharmacy app helps consumers save time and money through an integrated experience that includes mobile payment, ExtraCare offers, prescription information and refill/pickup options. The Caremark app helps approximately 105 million plan members manage their pharmacy benefits through mail delivery or in-store service.
Personal touch
Aetna is a leader when it comes to giving members the support and tools to reach their health ambitions. The Aetna One Advocate program takes member engagement to the next level by providing highly personalized services that appeal to members on their own terms. A member of the Aetna One Advocate team is trained on all of a member’s benefit plans (even if they aren’t with Aetna) and can answer questions or transfer the member to an external vendor while staying on the line for support.
HealthHUB locations
Launched in 2019 in four service areas, this innovative CVS Pharmacy store format features a broader range of health care offerings. HealthHUB locations include care concierges, a curated selection of health and wellness products and new MinuteClinic services such as in-clinic blood draws and enhanced screenings. These locations focus on the entire spectrum of care—from prevention and wellness to chronic disease management. The number of HealthHUB locations is projected to rise to 600 to 650 by the end of 2020 and to 1,500 by the end of 2021.
Care management
Accordant's integrated case management program provides services on behalf of health plans, employers and third party administrators to members with complex and chronic diseases. Accordant has more than 400 specially trained rare disease nurses who help to manage the entire patient through proactive outreach, comorbidity and symptom management, emotional and social support and transportation coordination. Its programs also improve quality of life for patients’ families and caregivers. Accordant is NCQA-accredited.
Medical specialty RX
The NovoLogix online preauthorization tool helps identify and capture cost savings opportunities for specialty drugs billed under the medical benefit—as opposed to the pharmacy benefit—and also helps confirm that the drugs prescribed are clinically appropriate. It has helped CVS Caremark clients generate approximately $42 million in annual savings per million lives enrolled. In 2019, CVS Health also applied this proprietary technology across Aetna’s book of business.
Specialty infusion
Coram CVS Specialty Infusion Services is a leading provider of home infusion and parenteral (intravenous) and enteral (tube feeding) nutrition. It serves more than 50,000 patients each month, offering a high-quality, cost-effective treatment alternative when compared to the same care provided in an in-patient/hospital or clinic-based setting. With more than 35 years of experience, Coram is the only national home infusion provider accredited by The Joint Commission.
